With the start of every season, I like to take a look at the people who inspire me most in terms of style and fashion — and see how they’re approaching the shift in temperature and materials.

Observing how others mix colours, textures, and pieces I wouldn’t necessarily think to pair not only creates a fresh perspective for my own wardrobe, but also informs my seasonal wishlisting activities, and ultimately inspires the pieces I choose to add.

I truly believe it’s not about copying someone’s style, but rather about adding a fresh perspective to your own. So, here’s an edit of ten incredibly chic people whose styling I’ll be taking notes on this spring. I hope you enjoy!

I feel like lately I’ve been drawn to very simple styling, which might be partially influenced by The Row’s very relaxed approach to their Spring 2026 collection.

I truly do love these simple and casual outfits — but sometimes they seem to cross an invisible line and suddenly feel too streamlined and… just not interesting enough? So naturally, in situations like these, I like to turn to the Olsen Twins.

Scrolling through pap shots of them smoking, leaning against a wall somewhere in New York, what stands out most is their ability to add character without ever overwhelming the base of an outfit. It can be as simple as an unexpected shirt, letting focus shift towards your sunglasses, or wearing flip-flops in weather that clearly calls for a coat.

So here are six quick fixes I’ll be coming back to this season whenever I feel like adding a bit more interest — without overdoing it.

What I’ve been loving recently —

As is probably clear by now, I love a simple outfit — and these shorts will be the base for many of them this spring / summer. I love them with leather ballet flats, a black leather tote, and a soft grey long-sleeve.

I also just added these leather slides to my collection and can already tell they’ll be on heavy repeat, especially with airy white pieces — dresses like this, in particular.

I’m writing this on a Sunday — a day that, if we’re being honest, is best spent enjoying the comforts of home. And yet, it’s also perfect for a coffee run, a Pilates class, brunch with friends, and finally picking up that bag that’s been sitting on your wishlist for far too long.

A bit of a conflict, you might say. But I’d argue no compromise is necessary. This is where pajama chic — or comfort as a styling strategy — comes into play.

It’s not a new idea, of course, but one I always love to revisit and restyle. If you’re willing to go down a Pinterest rabbit hole, you’ll find that the Olsen twins and Zoë Kravitz do this particularly well — the secret seems to lie in contrasting the chic with the comfortable… I’d even go as far as to say that actual pajamas can be worn outside, as long as they’re styled with a great piece of outerwear and a few well-chosen leather accessories.

So, here are five ways I’m embracing pajama chic this season.

Dhoemi — specifically, this two-way rugby knit. It’s made from a wool and cashmere blend, cinches slightly at the waist, and might just be the only knit I need to add to my wardrobe this spring.

1. Studded flats. Of course, spring is flats season; however, not all flats are created equal, and these studded leather ones (more sizes available here) are definitely superior in terms of interest.

2. Pearls, as seen at The Row’s show in Paris this month. I truly loved the Winter 2026 presentation — the styling of the pearls being one of the many elements that stood out. If you’re looking to add a pearl necklace to your collection, I’d recommend this Sophie Bille Brahe design.

3. Is it too early to start strategizing summer dress purchases? Probably — but you do risk being too late for this perfect striped linen maxi dress. Clean lines can be hard to come by in summer dresses, but this one really delivers that minimal feel.

4. I mentioned this in the last newsletter, but how chic are zodiac-sign candles? Likely my go-to gifts until further notice. (TAKETHETOYS15 for 15% off the entire Violet Grey assortment.)

5. Summer knits have been on my mind lately, and this cashmere sweater captures that sense of lightness perfectly. The minimalist polo neckline adds just the right sporty-chic twist — the kind that makes any outfit feel effortlessly put-together. 6. Strangers by Belle Burden. I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut lately, which is why I opted to listen to this instead — and it did not disappoint. It’s not exactly a light read (or listen), but the story is both fascinating and infuriating, and difficult to put down. Highly recommend.

7. Cotton pajamas. I love a classic set, and this one has a certain chic edge. I’d even argue it works just as well during the day (add black leather slides and a great bag, and you’re set). It also feels very in line with what The Row is doing this spring/summer — see look 13 from the Spring 2026 collection below.

This vintage wishlist was very much inspired by my recent obsession with the Loro Piana Horsey jackets, which look just a little too similar to current The Row and Prada styles for me not to take notice. I went down a TRR / Vestiaire rabbit hole this past week and, as a result, one of these jackets is now on its way to me. I’ll report back.

The first weeks of spring can feel a little all over the place, but for me they’re also tied to a deep sense of excitement — excitement for longer days, more sunshine, wearing ballet flats, and leaving the house in just a sweater (truly the best).

Wishlisting — (and immediately ordering — I am going for a size small) this J.Crew rollneck sweater after seeing it on Sarah Pidgeon as CBK in last week’s episode of Love Story. I already own the 2025 rollneck in both black and a navy / white mix, and think the cotton fabric will make for a perfect summer knit to throw on after a long day at the beach.

Loving — this House of Dagmar cotton field jacket, which I wore on a long city walk last weekend. The weather in Europe has officially entered spring territory, and I’ve decided this will be my designated jacket for the season.

Screenshotting & Loving — Prada Fall 2026 RTW. Just 15 models walked 60 looks, continuously shedding layers with each reappearance.

Loving — Fara Homidi’s Essential Eye Compact. As a longtime fan of the brand, I was so excited to get my hands on this — especially after admiring the models’ makeup at Eckhaus Latta during NYFW.

Wishlisting — these Jude flipflops. The brand is now available on Mytheresa, and I could not be more excited.

Wishlisting — a ridiculously long list of spring jackets, reaching from this Prada cotton leather-trimmed jacket (this is basically the same for a fraction of the price), to this brown The Row field jacket, as well as this TR beige cotton / cashmere jacket, to this beige hooded Toteme jacket.

Wishlisting — a TR 90s bag. I’ve yet to add this bag to my collection, mostly because it goes out of stock before I can commit to a colorway. This brown is, however, delicious… still, this suede might be even better (you see my struggle).

On my radar —

Nour Hammour just introduced their spring collection. It is, of course, no secret that I absolutely loved the brand’s shearling selection this winter, and it appears this love affair is one that will stand the test of time.

I’d say there are two gorgeous black leather jackets to have on your radar — one that feels very reminiscent of Saint Laurent, and another with incredibly elegant lines. If you’re looking to add a pop of color to your wardrobe this spring, this red suede barn jacket might be exactly what you’re after (also available in a chic brown). And if you loved that suede The Row coat, this is a more reasonably priced but just as chic alternative.

At the same time, the brand is running their winter sale, so make sure to have a look — their designs are, of course, absolutely timeless.

Another brand to have on your radar — especially while we’re on the topic of CBK and ’90s minimalism — is 440me. I currently own three of their knits and am completely in love with their silk-wool blend. So if you’re in the market for a great staple knit, I’d recommend giving this turtleneck and this classic crewneck a try.

I’m also currently curious to try this shirt, these very The Row–Gala-pant-esque trousers, and these jeans.

Now, tracking down true vintage denim can be a challenge — especially for those of us who lack the time or patience required (myself included). With that in mind, I did some research and compiled a list of brands and styles to consider if you’re after that perfect vintage fit.

Aflalo — There have been a few times when I could have sworn someone was wearing vintage denim, only to realize they were actually wearing the Aflalo Orwell jeans. The brand only recently expanded its denim selection — and of course these are on my wishlist — but if you’re after that perfect vintage-style fit, the Orwell is definitely the style to know.

Still Here NY — If you think you might be unfamiliar with this New York–based brand, allow me to prove you wrong. You definitely saw these jeans on every cool girl last summer — naturally, they’re the Still Here Sport Jean. If you’re looking for a more classic fit, look no further than the Everyday Jean or the Childhood Jean. And while you’re on their site, don’t forget to take a look at the sweatshirts, which feature a perfect vintage wash.

Khaite — This would, of course, not be a denim edit without mentioning Khaite, who, IMO, is responsible for some of the very best denim out there. I personally own both the Danielle and Abigail styles and have yet to discover another brand that compares. Important: consider sizing up in the Danielle (if not both styles — though I hear this can depend on the wash).

Toteme — Believe it or not, the brand doesn’t just excel at shearling coats; they also do denim exceptionally well. In case you’re wondering which styles the cool girls gravitate toward, I’d say it’s these classic-cut mid-rise jeans and these low-rise straight jeans.

Ruadh — Another brand to have on your radar is Ruadh, which I’m told means “red” in Scottish. The brand is especially loved for its denim, with the Quinn Jean being the style to know. …And while you’re on their site, make sure to browse the outerwear, too — the jackets are just as good.

House of Dagmar — If you ever find yourself in Stockholm, wondering where all the cool girls are getting their denim, it’s probably House of Dagmar. I personally own a few of their denim pieces, and they have become absolute closet staples. You can choose between five different fits, and I’d say the washes are beautifully vintage-inspired.

Reformation — now, I know we’re all familiar with the brand; however, I personally never really considered their denim… that is, until I went down a bit of a TikTok rabbit hole. The general consensus seems to be that it’s very good — with these ’90s mid-rise jeans emerging as a clear favorite (I just got them in and would say they fit comfortably true to size; size down if you prefer a tighter fit). These definitely deserve a chance, too.

A ton of incredibly exciting new arrivals.

On a beauty note: Violet Grey just launched Bob Beauté on their site — a Norwegian beauty line embracing simplicity. I’m told the products to have your eye on include this face mist and this brow gel.

Khaite Spring Summer 2026 is now available to shop — objects of interest include these sunglasses (!!), this belt, this layered midi skirt, and this perfect red tee. Also note this leather jacket… and while you’re on their site, I’d highly recommend signing up for notifications for this hooded peplum leather jacket.

These The Row loafers are going fast. I’ve been on the lookout for a black shirt, and this TR one looks perfect (this is a great alternative — and also this). On another note, I can’t seem to get the image of the TR Marcel bag being worn as a clutch out of my head. Too chic.

I’m also loving these Toteme corduroy pants and this Altuzarra cotton silk-blend maxi dress.

Also, I wouldn’t argue with anyone who thinks the The Row N/S Park Tote in canvas is the perfect spring / summer bag — but you’d definitely have to convince me that this isn’t essentially the same tote (for around one-seventh of the price).

I worked from home last week, which allowed me to test-drive these ballet flats. Needless to say, they’re perfect — especially styled with white denim and a Ralph Lauren blazer (found on Vestiaire; this is a great alternative, also chic in white).

Looking outside, I’m tempted to add this chic puffer to my closet. Also on my wishlist (and has been for a while) is this Nour Hammour black shearling coat.

Back to work has me scrolling the office-appropriate side of the web, which led me to this jacket. This reminds me, I already have and love this incredible blazer jacket (runs true to size; also very chic).

Winter browns have been a great source of joy for me lately. Objects of note include: vintage shearling coat, vintage clutch, beige sweater (this was sent to me — truly a perfect alternative to this the row sweater — I opted for my true size, but wish I had sized up), black leather boots, white denim, lip treatment I have been loving, suede tote.

I got to cross off a longtime wishlist item last month when I was gifted this &Daughter cardigan. Some of my other favorites are now on sale, including this V-neck sweater, this blanket scarf, and this beautiful red crewneck sweater.

Flore Flore is now available at Net-A-Porter — I will absolutely stock up on the car tee.

In an effort to manifest a brief winter, I clicked checkout on these ballet flats. I went up half a size and would say they fit perfectly, though I’ve yet to take them for a test walk. Also on my radar: these tabi leather ballet flats. Just perfect.

On another spring note, I can’t seem to get this red trench off my mind. The brown version is just as good.

The Violet Grey Beauty Event

I would currently characterize myself as beauty curious, which is why the Violet Grey beauty event is truly exciting to me. Current favorites of mine include: the U Beauty eye serum & lip treatment (both kindly gifted by the brand — you can also shop them directly on their site, with 20% off using the code TAKETHETOYS20). Something that has become a fixed step in my routine: Roz Hair. Both their styling oil and hair serum are great and have truly made a difference for my hair. Charlotte Chesnais Jewelry

I have been a fan of Charlotte Chesnais’ designs for a very long time (most of all this bracelet). They kindly sent a piece of their alphabet collection my way — truly such a chic gift.
